Johanne Cullen is born in Quebec City. Graduated in Fine Arts at University of Quebec in Montreal. She lives and works in Montreal. She paints figures who root us to the spot with their sheer presence and intensity, drawing the viewer into a moment of shared intimacy. In her world, gestures become theatre, images evoke cinema. Emotion and sensibility graze the soul. Dreamlike, sometimes surreal, her paintbrush drips with mesmerizing, hypnotic strangeness.
