The prevalent theme in Nemo's work is travel and the discovery of the beauty and excitement of new places. His distinctive images draw together the charm and mood of several famous cities at once to create a dreamlike memory of time and space in a fascinating combination of mixed media.
Victor Colesnicenco “Nemo” grew up in Chisinau, the capital city of Moldova. He emigrated to Canada in 1999 with his wife and son, settling in the Niagara region. Viewing his new home as a gateway to more opportunity, Nemo spent the following years travelling throughout North America and the United Kingdom, participating in numerous Exhibitions throughout.
Nemo employs a variety of mediums when he produces a work of art such as photographs, drawings, acrylic, fabric, paper, acrylic gel, liquid gel, and in some cases epoxy.
The origins for his technique was made manifest from the inner recesses of a dream, creating a setting similar to that of a movie, with characters, props, lighting, often juxtaposing past, present and future to create the perfect mood for a dreamlike memory somewhere in time and space.
