For Diane Maisonneuve, sculpture is more than an art form — it’s a way to bring her ideas to life, offering a freedom of movement and expression that lies at the heart of her creative process.
Diane’s sculptures begin in clay, where she carefully shapes each form with precision and intent. Yet it is in bronze that she finds her greatest artistic fulfillment. The transformation from clay to bronze — a process completed at the esteemed Fonderie d’Art d’Inverness and marked with its official seal — continues to inspire a deep sense of wonder in her. To Diane, bronze is not just a material; it's a timeless medium that gives each piece a lasting, almost eternal presence.
Known for her meticulous attention to detail, Diane avoids idealizing her subjects. With each piece she creates, she pours passion and feeling into the work, allowing it to take on a life of its own. Every sculpture tells a unique story, and she invites viewers to explore each one with curiosity and imagination.
Diane Maisonneuve is the recipient of many awards, prizes and distinctions for her bonzes. In 2024 her sculpture “Don Quichotte” was recognized as a finalist in the Artist Invitational 10 Art Awards in Scottsdale Arizona, and took home 1st prize at the expo-competition Valédar for 3D artists. Diane lives in Quebec where she continues to work closely with The Fonderie d’Art d’Inverness to produce these illustrious works.
