Lise St-Cyr is a sculpture artist represented by Chase Art Gallery.
Lise is influenced by environment, family and relationships. Some of her work will speak subtly of those issues , whereas others will simply embrace motherhood. You will often see a mother with a child in her collections as she constantly feels the need to honour the values of nurturing and protecting.
Paverpol is a permanent polymere fabric hardener, that can be used as a mixed medium on canvas or other surfaces to create sculptures that can be placed in the garden. The statuette technique is to build up an armature with a metal wire, sculpt the body forms with aluminum foil, then apply a paverpol dipped cotton strip mummification process. There can then be a second layer with clay, paverpol and artstone paste or sometimes a fabric draping depending on the style she will be using for each individual sculpture. The finishing touch consists of an acrylic dry brushing and varnishing. Paverpol is a permanent and waterproof polymere, the anti-uv varnish is applied to protect the acrylic colours for the outside garden sculptures.
