Luis Pantigozo was born in Arequipa, Peru in 1958 and studied at the “Escuela de Bellas Artes”. Although Pantiogozo is truly an international artist his roots remain humble. Pantigozo is an artist of the people, painting a simple reproduction of their feelings, an expression of their emotions. Every piece he paints is charged with passion, derived from his relationship with them. They show him what life is about, they are the ones that make him a better person, a better man.
“My work reflects such simplicity. It consists of one or two figures, it is essential and direct, it is spiritual, and it is simple. You don’t read my paintings you feel them; you feel the expression that surpasses the beauty of what is obvious. Just let them talk to you and tell you of all the stories the people in them have to say.”
To date Pantigozo has had more than 60 solo and group exhibitions in Peru, Italy, England, the United States and others.
