Maya Eventov paints the way light moves- with energy, depth, and intention.
Internationally recognized for her palette-knife impasto technique, she builds richly textured acrylic canvases that feel as sculptural as they are luminous. Her work draws collectors and admirers across the globe, earning her a well-deserved place among today's most celebrated modern impressionists.

Born in Leningrad (St. Petersburg) in 1964, Eventov’s artistic foundation was shaped by early visits to the Hermitage Museum, where she absorbed the Post-Impressionists and Russian Avant-Garde masters—an influence reflected in her blend of emotive color and structured composition.

She began formal training at age six and later earned a Master’s Degree in Graphic Art from the St. Petersburg State Academy of Industrial and Applied Art in 1987. Before immigrating to Canada in 1990, she worked as a book illustrator and contributed to mural projects in Moscow and Leningrad.

In Canada, Eventov developed her signature sculptural painting style, using layered acrylic and palette knives to create works defined by movement, light, and texture. Her practice spans florals, landscapes, figurative subjects, and abstraction, all unified by a consistent focus on emotional warmth and visual vitality.

Her work is widely exhibited and held in private and corporate collections internationally, including those of former U.S. President George W. Bush and Barbara Bush, former Prime Minister Jean Chrétien, CIBC, and other notable institutions. In 2013, she received the Women in Leadership Award from Skills for Change and CIBC for her contributions to the Canadian arts community.
