Marie-Claude Courteau was born in Beauharnois in 1953. Summers spent by the lake as a child, awakened  her fascination and deep love for nature.
In spite of a career in chemistry, Marie-Claude finds  the time to dedicate to her other passions: painting, photography, horticulture, and hiking.
She began to paint professionally by 1978 and has since participated in several solo and group exhibitions throughout Quebec. In 2000, she participated in the Artist Competition of the “Cercle des Artistes Peintres et Sculpteurs du Québec”, where she won the award for the category of ”Representational Realism“. In 2006 and 2007, she won First and Second prizes during Art Contests in Mascouche, Valleyfield, and La Prairie.
