Her artwork focuses on urban architecture, it is an expressive statement of its urban dynamics. Through her warm color palette, she captures the energy of a city by maintaining the balance between figuration and abstraction.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003e“My paintings reflect my love of architecture, be it breathtaking towers or ancient constructions. Buildings are an important testimonial of our presence on earth, and my artwork is about this « presence”.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003eI find inspiration in architectural details, textures, reflections, and contrasts formed by complexity and simplicity. Even though one is able to recognize a specific cityscape, the emphasis is not in reproducing reality and authenticity, but rather to record an emotional impression.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003eRenee is essentially self-taught, she has taken classes, workshops and has been apprenticed by renowned artists and masters in mixed media in Canada and the United States. She works only on cities she knows well and that she visited several times. Working in mixed media enables Renee to innovate and integrate several materials: acrylic paints and mediums, ink, collage, photography, Japanese papers, etc.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003e\u003cspan style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\"\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e“Starting from my own photographs and drawings, I research the history of the buildings that I am interested in and their urban environments.
