Gaston Rebry is considered one of Canadas most acclaimed landscape painters. He immigrated to Quebec from Belgium in 1955 and studied at the École des Beaux-Arts de Montréal. Rebry has always been deeply attached to nature and the Quebec and Canadian landscape, His rich and bold oil paintings often depict landscapes from his adopted region of Mauricie.
Rebry has somehow learned to capture the true essence of the Canadian landscape in his paintings. Like his canvasses, he has become one with nature. He paints the Canadian scenery the way it was before the first settlers arrived: a lush, green paradise where the sky, forest and water rule supreme, nature untouched by the animal world.
